CS simulation group engineers and experts design, analyze, develop, verify and validate for aeronautical customers whenever it is possible with mathematical models and associated computational methods for high performance simulation of multi-disciplinary engineering problems.
• aero-structures and engine components specific design calculations and justification studies: statics, dynamics of metallic and composite primary structures.
• aero-structures and engine components non-specific design advanced calculations studies: aerodynamics, fluid-structure interaction (aero elasticity…), electromagnetism, thermal analysis, aero therm dynamics…
• development of computational methods for the high performance simulation of multidisciplinary engineering problems.
CS continuously specializes in distributed computing and massively parallel processing, with a specialized activity fully dedicated to software optimization (recent example: the optimization of the ONERA aerodynamics software elsA for AIRBUS).
Current CS research emphasis is on reduced-order modeling, multi-scale approximation methods, global multidisciplinary optimization methods, imaging, uncertainty quantification and various large-scale applications in aerospace (like large-scale aerodynamics and aero acoustics simulations).
